Oooooh a new weekly feature EXCITING STUFF!! It’s going to be about finding happiness in the small stuff. Sometimes we get so fixated on the destination that we forget to enjoy the journey. So here’s my weekly round up of all the things that have made me smile.
My Week the best bits
Dressing exactly the same as my dear old Ma on a shopping trip to the glamorous TK Maxx. A few days later enjoying an exciting trip to the Vets we had both decided not to wear the red coat and ended up in pretty much the same Parka.
Feeling lucky to have two small humans that 75% of the time love each other to bits.
You miss so much if you’re always looking down. Spent a lot of time in the Natural History Museum looking up at all the beautiful architecture. Whenever I visit London it always makes me smile.
Birthdays are good. They mean more LEGO coming into the house, family and friends gathering round to celebrate and of course cake. I like cake. Happy Birthday to my now very grown up seven year old.
Lastly a song that’s been on repeat all week, thanks to the lovely Maria for sending it to me.
So what were the best bits about YOUR week?
Love this Miss Nina. My favourite bits were Kai’s drawings of made up Christmas presents he wishes he’d got, drinking tea and eating Maltesers at the same time, finding a resort in Spain where you stay in a TREEHOUSE which I must go to, spending a whole day imagining what life would be like if I was an inch tall, and reading Winnie the Pooh stories down the phone to my friend late at night xx
Ha! I love your brain very very much!! x
OOOOO tree houses in Spain sounds excellent…. where can I find this wonderous place?
These stand out for me last week:
1) meeting two lovely people of Twitter for drinks last Tuesday
2) finding that my little bag of loose change added up to over £33!
3) enjoying my sister’s home made cake with her and mum yesterday
Great post! X
Ooooh home made cake is good! x
Last weeks best bits (and hoping to repeat again this week):
1. The 8 yr old getting back to school with such excitement, bouncing home and not being able to tell me quick enough all the great things she has done that day.
2. Drawing. Spending 4 hours in a life drawing session with my adorable man and then painting a mural for a soon to be born baby girl.
Writing to down helps to appreciate it all over again. Thank you x
It does doesn’t it…Good way to start a Monday! Thanks for sharing yours. x
Love this idea!! Have already commented enough on your week of fun elsewhere so here’s mine
Highlights of the week (and slightly over a week ago) were
1) Getting the house back to normal after christmas…
2) Discovering the very humourous ‘Raising Hope’ and ‘New Girl’
3) Befriending the awesome Megan!! (Who, out of my online friends world, has been pretty much responsible for all the extra laughs / smiles etc that havn’t come from you or other members of the Tame family!!)
xx
New Girl is brilliant!!! Some of the episodes made tears come out of my eyes!! Lovely stuff x
Best bits of the last seven days…
1) My daughter unexpectedly coming to stay for a few days.
2) Finding I can still sing “Kooks” by Bowie well enough to make Evie and the daughters’ jaws hit the floor.
3) Being back in London after 2 weeks ‘Oop North’. (I luvs London SO much)
4) Being back at work. Odd I know, but I truly adore my job.
5) Finding a cinema local to me that has sofas and armchairs, a waiter service for the bar and doesn’t smell of wee.
Things I’m looking forward to…
My very best friends surprise Birthday party in Paris next weekend. He’s gonna have a cow!
Oh and lastly seeing the “captcha” for this post is personalised for me. (eldante stairwells)
Ha! Sounds like a darn fine week!!
Uh-oh – that song is *so* catchy. For me, I made a new friend last Friday
Yay!!
Last week’s best bits? All pretty good…I made a super soup, did some really lovely yoga practice, felt full of energy and made my downstairs look quite nice, had an amazing meditation session (where else can you get a dress maker, a Reiki master, a police woman and a pole dancer in one place to share tales of the spiritual journey?), and had the best cuddles with 2 little human beans alot in front of my open fire. As you know, the cherry on top of the icing on my cake was to share a smashing afternoon with you, Master D, your wonderful family and friends and yes, CAKE!
there’s more…
Top bloody week then lady!! Thanks for sharing. xx
